"The Wolf" was technically my first published poem.

I entered our school's poetry contest. I did not place in the Top 3, but I did get one of only two Honorable Mentions.

Published in 2001 as part of a compilation

My poem "Lost" was published in Poetry.com's (2001) "Timeless Mysteries, The International Library of Poetry compilation (Page 111)".

This was my first publicly published poem.

LTTEOAW is my first full book and my greatest writing achievement. It encapsulates a lifetime of poems, journal entries, thoughts, blurbs, ramblings, and short stories.

I have some exciting news to share! 🐺

About four months after beginning the rewrite of *The Werewolf of the Castle*, I now have a solid spine for all of Act I.

Current draft stats:

📖 ~29 Pages
📝 12,831 Words
📚 Approximately 6 Chapters

Not bad for the opening act.

More importantly, the story is finally taking shape. I have a solid plan for Act II, and I know how the story ends in Act III.

Now I just have to get everyone there.

Loss and grief show up often in my work, especially in my poetry. Life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. Life gets real. Life gets messy. A lot happens, and there are times I need to sit and process things. Not even figure things out, just vent and let things out. Cope, accept, rest, recover, and do my best to move on. I don’t pretend to have all the answers because everything is very in-the-moment as I write it.

I love characters that teeter on the hero-or-not line.

They can absolutely do good, but how they choose to get there – or how they are forced into impossible choices to get there – always fascinates me.
They are shaped by the world around them, often trying not to be the bad thing everyone believes they are.
However, when push comes to shove, they ARE willing to do whatever must be done. They may not always show it, but they do care deeply for others. They are tragic figures that still show decency and are, at their heart, good people… despite everything.

Down a hall of red and back,
Golden torches light my path.

At the end of the hall lies the door,
The door to the void,
The door to the unknown.

The deep red carpet,
The pitch-black ceiling,
The walls half-black, half-wood.

Ill-lit chandeliers are complex in design,
It's in this hallway that I leave my past behind.

My footsteps echo in total silence,
My thoughts are heard by flickering flames.

Down this hallway of darkness and despair,
I walk and watch its beautiful stare.

I see my reflections in the walls,
I hear faint voices and muffled calls.

The end of the hall is reached, at last,
I open the door and see what's inside,

What is there?
That's for you to discover, and me to hide...

For me, characters have shadows.

Things they hide. Prior events or experiences that don't get talked about. A topic they shy away from or shut down quickly. Sensitive subjects that characters don't want to broach. The real question is: what happens when a character’s shadow is exposed to the light? What happens when they are confronted with it? What choices do they make? Are those choices sound?

That creates a compelling conflict in my mind.

Someone asked me, "Why did I choose to write the genres I do?”

Poetry just came naturally to me, so I never really stopped. The same with journaling. I did make the decision that my first novel would involve a werewolf. Dark Gothic fantasy felt like a natural fit for it. And based on the content I'm writing, I still think that is the right genre. Bloody, tragic, character-driven.

There's something very freeing and limitless about making collages— no rules, no anxieties about its craftsmanship, no nitpicking over each individual element of the project as a whole. Just the simple freedom of enjoying a rather childlike art practice!

I draw a lot of inspiration from wolves, from the forest, and from the world. I dream of being a global source of inspiration, support and hope for those who experience similar struggles. Ominous and yellow, she peeks over the
mountain tops.
I can feel her energy radiate
upon me as she shows herself.
Hazardous and red-eyed, he peeks from behind the tree trunks.
I can feel his gaze penetrate through me as he
shows himself.
Between her light, and his power, I’m at the whim of my nature.
Caught in the middle of her tender love, and his unbridled wrath... but which power takes control and makes me bend to its will is uncertain.
Good or evil: my new fever rules me in this form.

🚨 Scam Alert: Engagement Farms 🚨

Today’s tip: be careful with “promo” offers that promise big numbers.

Here’s the usual setup:

Someone tells you they can get your book, post, page, or product seen by thousands of people if you pay them.

You pay.

Then, suddenly, the post gets views, likes, reactions, and comments.

At first glance, it looks like it worked.

But take a closer look.

Are the comments generic?
Do they sound copy-pasted?
Is anyone actually mentioning your book, your writing, your product, or anything specific?
Are the accounts real potential readers — or just part of an engagement farm?

Large numbers do not always mean real support.

A page with thousands of followers may be able to get you quick reactions, but that does not mean those people will read your book, buy your work, leave a meaningful review, or become part of your actual audience.

In many cases, you are paying for empty engagement inside a bubble that goes nowhere.

This happens across social media, especially on Facebook and Instagram, where authors and small creators are often targeted.

When in doubt, check it out.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
